I make art impulsively and am greatly inspired by post-impressionism & folk art, and I love capturing the beautiful banality of everyday life.

Working with terracotta clay, I focus on alternative finishing methods; dipping the pots in a white slip so that I can draw and paint unique designs on each piece.

When not busy at Rose’s, you can find me at my other job, a wedding & portrait photographer, or out in the garden or at the beach with my son, Arlo — who also loves to get covered in clay in the ceramics studio.

  • Brandi is a bit of a nature nerd and her work is deeply inspired by the flora and fauna of the Northwoods. Originally from Nebraska, she began her ceramic journey at Northland College in 2018. In addition to working with clay, Brandi enjoys weaving bookmarks and belts on her inkle loom and placemats and table runners on her table top loom.  When she's not at a pottery wheel you can find her captaining sailboats out of Bayfield, strolling down a trail or swimming in Lake Superior.

Gallery Artists

  • Courtney is a visionary artist whose inspiration ranges from early Byzantine art to the raw expressionism of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Her work blends vibrant color with layered textures, often incorporating newspapers dating from the 1800s to today—weaving ethereal messages and reflections of the world around her.

From a young age, Courtney knew that creative expression was her true language. Fascinated by antiquity, she initially pursued Art History at the University of Mary Washington before deciding to leave and follow her own artistic path. In 2011, she held her first solo show, Cosmic Colors, marking the start of her professional journey.

Along the way, Courtney stumbled upon what would become one of her signature art forms: fork and spoon ware. It all began with an attempt to make a key holder (for her constantly missing keys!)—a project that unexpectedly led to her crafting her first bracelet using just a hammer, a 2x4 slab, and a pair of needle-nose pliers (which she still has). She began selling her "Forkin’ Wares" at festivals and the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire.

Twelve years later, her business—Forkin’ Creations—has become her foundation. She now hand-carves and engraves jewelry from antique silverware, primarily working with pieces made between 1869 and 1946, which she believes were the golden years of craftsmanship.

Courtney has curated and participated in numerous shows, both solo and collaborative. Her creative practice spans visual art and wearable pieces, all deeply rooted in storytelling and historical texture.

You can explore her work at www.forkincreations.weebly.com.
Her studio is currently based in Ashland, Wisconsin.

  • I have a bachelors degree in Studio Fine Arts from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I am a multimedia artist who enjoys the process and journey of working intuitively. My works celebrate my love of nature, energy and color.
